Brainrot refers to the idea that consuming large amounts of content considered “futile” or of low quality can impair mental capacity, resulting in a type of “brain rot,” says Hedler.

“This may include excessive consumption of social networks, low-quality TV programs, gossip, memes and other types of entertainment that do not offer significant educational or cultural value,”.

This type of consumption can lead to a decrease in the ability to concentrate, critical thinking and creativity. The subject has gained more attention in a society where increasingly younger children have unlimited access to the internet.

5.Create a distraction-free environment

“Try to reduce distractions around you. For example, while you work or study, leave your cell phone in another room and turn off unnecessary notifications”, he advises.

6. Have daily routines
